Peter J Haight

Rotterdam – Peter J. Haight left this life suddenly on November 1, 2022, at the age 71 as a result of a tragic accident. Peter was a dedicated employee of National Grid; beginning as a Meter Reader and retiring after 32 years of service, at age 55, as an Underground Lineman. Throughout life, he always loved family celebrations, enjoying food, laughter, and glasses of wine together. He enjoyed retirement to the fullest; and was passionate about taking care of his property and working around the house. He loved staying home and could often be heard saying “I love this place” when referring to his rural surroundings. Additionally, he enjoyed family vacations in Rhode Island and most recently returning to Saco, Maine, the location of his childhood vacations. Peter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be forever missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 49 years, Fran, his son Michael (Ellen) Haight of Hudson, NH, his daughter Jennifer (Luigi) Palleschi of Rotterdam, NY and his beautiful grandchildren, Natalie Haight, Alexander Haight, Vanessa Palleschi and Olivia Palleschi. He is also survived by five siblings, Gary Haight, Mark Haight, MaryBeth (Ed) Kelly, John Haight, and Anita (Mark) DiCerbo; as well as nieces and nephews, and friends Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Peter’s memory to Rotterdam EMS, Rotterdam Police Department, South Schenectady Fire Department, and Plotterkill Fire Department for all of their help.
