Pauline (Viscusi) Melco

Schenectady- Pauline Viscusi Melco passed away peacefully at her home as she wished with her sons/caregivers on September 13, 2022 at the age of 97 years old. She was born on January 25, 1925 and was a lifelong resident of Schenectady. She was the daughter of Joseph Viscusi and Sabina Marchsano Viscusi. Pauline was married to the late Christopher N. Melco Sr. for many years before his death. Pauline grew up during the depression years and quickly learned how to make a dollar out of a penny. She instilled in others to working hard for what you want. She promoted family values, respect and consideration of others. She loved being at home cooking, cleaning and moving walls. Pauline was employed at the General Electric Co. and the NYS Employment for many years before becoming a hairdresser, which she loved. She raised two boys who she was proud of and provided them with all her heart and soul. Pauline was predeceased by her ten brothers and sisters. Three passed away at a very early age. Adeline, Lucy and Louis Viscusi. Her sisters, were Yolanda (Ceasar) Spadaro, Santa (John) Sukatski, Eleanor (Don) Coons, Muffy (Cal) Capritta and her brothers, Louis (Beverly) Viscusi, Alfred (Shirley) Viscusi and Armond (Joan) Viscusi. She is survived by her two sons, Chris and Paul Melco and two granddaughters, Justina(Claude) Patrick and Sabina (Kevin) Bosely both of New Hampshire, three great grandchildren, Jordan Simmons, Nickolas Patrick and Annalese Patrick and was a loving aunt to many of her brothers and sister’s children. Pauline also loved her pets (dogs) and loved Jack, who assisted her on many occasions with love and kisses. Special thanks to her ex- daughter in law Brenda Aldrich and to her pulmonary doctor, Dr. Goykhman. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6-8 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. A Memorial Mass will begin on Saturday, 10 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Princetown Rd. in Rotterdam.
