Paul F Trudell

October 31, 1947 — June 2, 2022

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith … 2 Timothy 4:7 Paul F. Trudell passed away at his home with his family at his side on June 2, 2022 at the age of 74. He fought courageously battling serious medical conditions facing life challenges every day. Despite the challenges, he never complained and came out a hero staying strong until the end. Paul was a man of unshakable deep conviction. Rock steady, fearless, strong, determined and hard working. He lived by a strong moral code, love of country, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He enlisted in the US Army following high school during the Vietnam War era in Oct. ’66 and was incredibly proud to have been of service to his country serving at Ft. Jackson, Ft. Dix, Ft. Monmouth, USAAC St. Louis and USAG Stuttgart, Germany with honorable discharge as a Spec 5. Paul worked for General Electric Co. in Power Systems both Steam and Gas Turbine retiring with 38 years of service in quality control turbine inspection. Paul was married for 49 years to his beloved wife Angela. Family, love, friendships, mutual respect and humor were the foundation of their relationship. He loved his family unconditionally and leaves behind two boys Scott (Korrina Greeley) Trudell; Jeremy (Nichole) Trudell; and grandchildren Lucas and Riley. He also leaves behind his mother Audrey Trudell; and two sisters Linda (Dick) Unverhau and Cheryl (Skip) Ballou; nieces and nephews and so many wonderful and cherished friends. He was predeceased by his father Gerald Trudell. Paul’s interests were vast and varied. He will be remembered for his favorite past-times metal detecting with his friends throughout Schoharie, many east coast beaches, and the Caribbean, publishing articles in Treasure Magazine on his finds. He loved music and interest in playing instruments and even learned to play the bagpipes and a member of a local pipe band. He loved classic cars and owned the Hot Rod Magazine’s 1955 Chevy “mean green machine”. He played billiards, loved camping on Brandt lake, fishing, photography, benchrest shooting, playing board games, and vacationing across the US and Europe. But, his greatest joy was time spent with his grandchildren and yearly family vacations in Ocean City NJ. If ever there, our family invites you to stop between 7th & 8th street on the boardwalk and relax on his memory bench overlooking the ocean. Calling hours for Paul will be held on Friday, June 10th from 5-7PMat the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam.
