Paul A Harasimowicz

January 24, 1944 — October 15, 2022

Rotterdam - Paul A. Harasimowicz, 78, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, October 15, 2022. Born and raised in Schenectady, Paul was the son of Anthony and Elizabeth Harasimowicz (Zubalik). He was raised by his hardworking and devoted mother, Elizabeth. Paul never knew his father who was lost at sea (USS S-44/SS-155) on October 7, 1943, however, he was very close with his uncle, William L. Zubalik. After graduating from Bishop Gibbons High School (’62), Paul went on to study at St. Bonaventure University (’66) graduating with a B.S. in Mathematics. Paul married his cherished and loving wife Carol (Zadlo) on October 4, 1969 at St’s Cyril & Method Church in Schenectady, NY. He went on to work for the General Electric Company for 34 years before retiring in 2001. Paul worked tirelessly in the yard and on projects at his lifetime home. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and canoeing in the Adirondacks. He will be remembered for his outgoing nature, always picking up the phone to catch up with all of his friends and family from near and far. When he wasn’t busy planning the next outing to dinner or an evening show, he was often participating in events and spending time with his friends at the Rotterdam Elks. Paul is survived by his beloved wife Carol, his son Anthony (Susan), his daughter Beth (Brent), his granddaughter Penny. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 10 am-12 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A prayer service will take place immediately following the visitation at the funeral home. Procession will follow to St’s Cyril and Method Cemetery, Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
