Patrick F Eliseo

Rotterdam – Patrick F. Eliseo, 93, passed away on Friday, April 20th, 2018 with his family by his side at the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Pat was born on July 22nd, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY to his parents Immaculato and Michelina ("Maggie" D’Ambrosio) Eliseo. Pat honorably served his country in the United States Army throughout Europe during World War II (1944-1946) in the 78th Infantry Division, 303rd Medical Battalion, A Company. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and at the Bridge at Remagen, and earned multiple medals for his service. Upon coming to Schenectady, Pat worked for his cousins at American Body Works for many years. He later owned and operated Industrial Body Works in Schenectady. Pat was a member of the original Rotterdam Republican Club and he served as Committeeman for over 20 years. He was Captain of the Ushers at the former Our Lady of Assumption Church, served as a volunteer for the Church Festas and other community activities, and belonged to the Holy Name Society. Pat was also a Charter memberof the former Rotterdam Knights of Columbus 5703 where he held office asGrand Knight and Faithful Navigatorfor the 4th Degree #1654. He then transferred to the Latham-Colonie Knights of Columbus #3394where he is a lifetime member. Pat is survived by his beloved wife of almost 70 years, Jean (DeRossi) Eliseo, his son, Michael Eliseo (Denise), his daughter, Joanne Langley (Todd), his beautiful grandchildren, Jennifer Cardinal (Brien) and Jared Eliseo (Erin), and 2 great grandchildren, Elise and Reymond Cardinal. He is also survived by one sister, Margaret O’Neill (Edward) of Wind Gap, PA, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Pat is predeceased by 2 grandchildren, Jason Eliseo and Patrick Langley, and his siblings, Santella Montesano, Josephine Serso, Eleanor Losinno, Anna Ruocco, Maria Eliseo (all of Brooklyn, NY) and Alexander Eliseo (Rotterdam, NY). Calling hours will be held on Monday evening from 5-7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue in Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin Tuesday morning at 8:45am at the funeral home and will be followed by a funeral mass that will be celebrated at 9:30am at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 210 Princetown Road, Rotterdam. Interment with military honors will take place at St. Cyril and Method Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pat’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 5 Pine West Plaza, Ste 505, Albany, NY 12205 or to the Northeastern Association of the Blind at Albany, 301 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12206. Pat’s family would like to thank Patricia Filkins for all hercontinued support and kindness and tothe staff at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation for the care that they gave him during his stay there.
