Schenectady – Patricia R. Witkowski, 76, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 with her loving daughter by her side. She leaves behind a legacy of happiness, laughter and fond memories. Patti was born in Paterson, NJ on May 20, 1946 to the late Leo L. Connors Sr. and Mary T. Crispino Connors. She moved to Watervliet, NY as a young child and attended School 3 in Port Schuyler. She later graduated from Watervliet High School, where she participated in many extracurricular activities and made lifelong friendships. The closeness that the Class of '64 shared was unmatched. A charismatic and intelligent person, Patti took great pride in her work and was very dedicated to the companies she worked for. She was with Matthew Bender & Company for 28 years, working in both Customer Service as a manager and the Direct Mail Department. She later worked as an Executive Assistant at Corporate Health Dimensions until her retirement. She was always well liked and respected by her co-workers and those she came in contact with. Patti made her house a comfortable home. She was very welcoming and always good at listening and giving advice. She was an amazing cook, baker and candy maker. Throughout the years, her creations became quite famous and highly anticipated. She was known to deliver large cookie and candy platters to many family and friends.She also loved canning and sharing the fruits of her labor.Patti had a green thumb and greatly enjoyed spending time tending to her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens.Her annual trips to the Saugerties Garlic Festival were always something she looked forward to. But above all things, Patti loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were the lights of her life. She was truly delighted and honored to be a grandmother. Patti leaves behind her devoted husband, Donald F. Witkowski, whom she married on September 21, 2001; her beloved daughter, Kelly Kociuba and son-in-law, Alex; her cherished grandchildren, Alexandra and Lucas; her brother, Leo Connors Jr., sister-in-law and friend, Janet Connors; her nephew and nieces, Leo Connors III, Vicki Crow (Mike) and Karen High (Brian) as well as several great-nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. Calling hours will take place on Sunday, March 5th from 2-4pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue in Rotterdam. A funeral mass will begin at 11am Monday morning, March 6th at St. Stanislaus Church, 46 Cornell St., Amsterdam. Interment will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
