Patricia (Patty) Pierce

ROTTERDAM - Patricia A. Pierce, 70 passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday September 26, 2023 at Shaker Place.

She was born in Troy on July 24, 1953 to the late Margaret (Hughes) and Vincent E. Pierce.

Patty attended Our Lady of Mercy Elementary School in Colonie and graduated from Notre Dame High School, Schenectady in 1971.

She enjoyed painting and writing poetry. Patricia worked as a senior account clerk for the NYS Dept. of Labor for 32 years. She was a communicant of Christ Our Light Church and served as a eucharistic minister.

Patty is survived by her sisters Kathleen (the late Frank) Gillick, Ellen (Daniel) Dennis, Sr., Mary (Robert) Schneider, Dr. Vincent (the late Karen) Pierce; her nieces and nephews Daniel (Laurie) Dennis, Jr. PE, Dr. Kathleen (Corey) Vest, Dr. John (Samantha) Gillick, Vincent Gillick CFA, Thomas (Danielle) Gillick, CPA, Cassie (Brandon) Healy, Dr. Rebecca (Dr. Shaan) Kurshid, Dr. Laura (Trae Mindiola) Pierce, Dr. Suzanne (Matthew) Schaefer, Dr. Amy Schneider. She is also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews, her devoted partner of 43 years Robert Bush and her dear friend Cindy Dott.

Patricia’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Shaker Place Nursing Home for their care and compassion.

Patty’s funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 11 am in Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr. Loudonville. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with her family at the church prior to her Mass from 10-11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers those who wish may send memorial contributions to Christ Our Light Church 1 Maria Dr. Loudonville, NY 12211 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
