ROTTERDAM - It is with immense sadness that we announce the death of Patricia Ann “Trish” Bianchi, who passed away unexpectedly on Monday April 28, 2025 at Ellis Hospital. Trish entered this life on October 14th, 1943 in Schenectady and was welcomed into the loving arms of her late parents, Edward and Fannye Bianchi. She is predeceased by her sister Arleen McDonald, as well as her longtime companion, Al Baker. Trish graduated from Mt Pleasant High School in 1961 and continued on to earn her Master's degree in Special Education from SUNY Albany and Penn State University. Through her teaching, Trish shared her love and knowledge, serving local youth where she fostered a love of learning in future generations. Trish was a gifted writer and the life she authored was an incredible one. She believed that everyone had an important story to tell and that we are all writers when it comes to the story of our own lives. She earned her license as a pilot and was a member of the International Organization of Women Pilots, known as the 99s. She shared this passion with children, teaching them about planes and piloting; even bringing them along into the skies. She also traveled the world, documenting her travels through her perfect penmanship and artwork. Trish connected deeply with animals. She had a love for horses, was an avid rider and was a supporter of local horse charities. Trish kept cats as her companions and enjoyed watching birds from her window. When she settled into retirement and slowed her adventuring, she continued to learn through reading and writing, and she built meaningful relationships with people in her community. While Trish never had children of her own, her kind and generous spirit led her to act as a mother to all, including her students and beloved pets. She viewed the world through a lens of empathy and compassion, and spent her life pursuing knowledge and adventure, with generosity at the center. Trish is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as a close circle of friends; all who will miss her dearly.
