Pamela M. Puglisi, 75, of Salem, NY, passed peacefully at Glens Falls Hospital on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Born in New York City, Pamela was the daughter of the late Stephen Bertrand and Camille (Martel) Bentham. As a child she moved from New York City to Lowell, Massachusetts where she met and married her former husband (surviving) Charles F. Puglisi settling in Latham, NY to raise their family. After raising her children she went back to school and earned her Master’s degree in social work from the University at Albany. Pamela was employed at the Center for Recovery in Glens Falls retiring in 2016. For over 15 years she worked with people suffering from addiction. Pamela was a longtime member of the Salem United Methodist Church. She loved gardening and going to the beach. She was known among her friends and community for her kindness and generosity. She is survived by two children, Stephanie A. (Matthew) Flaherty of Altamont and Christopher F. (Megan) Puglisi of Latham, and five cherished grandchildren, Malachi, Liam, Maria, Charlie and Michael. Pamela is also survived by her three legged dog Cruiser. The family would like to thank Dr. Ira Zackon of New York Oncology Hematology, Brandi Baker FNP of Greenwich Family Health, and Dr. Jamie Masson of Glens Falls Hospital for their compassion and expertise. The family would also like to acknowledge the kindness and dedication of her friend and caregiver Penny Persaud along with her family. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Turnpike (Rt. 20) in Guilderland. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Pam’s name. A Memorial service will begin at the funeral home at 7 pm.
