O Chadwick Loveland

Rotterdam – O. Chadwick Loveland, 91, passed away Saturday July 1, 2017 at home. Born in Rutland, VT on December 11, 1925 he served our country in the United States Navy from 1944-1946. He then received his Bachelors degree from the University of Vermont. After moving to Schenectady in 1959, he was an engineer in the steam turbine department of General Electric for 32 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of the American Society of mechanical engineers, American Legion, General Electric Elfun Society and the quarter century club. Chadwick was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Beverly Loveland who died 2005. He is survived by his four children; Gary (Kimberly) Loveland of Marlborough, NH, David Loveland of W. Springfield, MA, Lisa Pierre of Wingdale, NY and Steven (Marina) Loveland of Princetown, NY. 5 grandchildren; Jeremy Loveland of Moneta, VA, Selina Thomas of Marlow, NH, Jenny Duckworth of Canterbury, NH, Shannon Carrier of Fitzwilliam, NH and Alison Pierre of Brattleboro, VT. 3 great grandchildren; Jack & Sam Binder and Raena Carrier. A calling hour will be held Thursday July 6, 2017 from 10-11am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. An 11 am funeral service will immediately follow. Burial will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA.
