Schenectady- Noreen R. "Nunny" Bonanzo, 82, passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital on January 4. 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Schenectady on January 13, 1933 the daughter of Franklin and Ella Smith Marsh. Noreen was predeceased by her husband Anthony Bonanzo in 1980. For many years until her retirement in the early 1990s she was employed as a hostess and waitress in various local establishments. Mimi as she was lovingly called is remembered by her family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She spent many enjoyable hours playing cards, loved to dance, and was a member of the Sunnyview Hospital Auxiliary. Noreen is survived by her children Lynn Roney of Schenectady, Toni-Ann (James) Duval of Florida,Cheryl (Joseph) Angerami of Rotterdam, and her daughter-in-law Terri Jegabbi of Schenectady. Noreen was predeceased by her son-in-law Charles Roney in 1996, her son John Jegabbi in 2014 and her granddaughter Marissa Angerami in 1998. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jeff (Paula) Roney, Jason (Ashley Hwaszcz) Roney all of Schenectady, Jarod (Kelli) Roney of Glenville, Michael Angerami of Schenectady, Krystal Kownack and Dennis Jegabbi of Schenectady and Cheryl-Lynn Duval of Florida and James (Krystal) Duval of Texas, and several great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank her devoted friend and companion, William Muscanell, for his constant caring and unconditional support.We also thank Rosanne Villano for her many hours of sharing, caring, support, and for loving our Mom.The staff at Glendale Nursing Home, Pine Plains Unit- Noreen considered her "home" these last several months - helped her and she grew quite fond of her many caregivers.Many thanks to the staff at Ellis Hospital, A6, for their caring, respect and devotion to their profession.During our time of need, you made a time of difficult decisions easier to understand. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc, 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Thursday January 7, 2016 from 10 am to 12 pm. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 12 noon. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be sent to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis TN 38105.
