Nicholas Colamarino, 80, of Rotterdam, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 22, 2015. Born in Schenectady, Nicholas was the son of the late Michael and Mary Dagostino Colamarino. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1954 and later graduated from the GE Apprentice Program for Mechanical Drafting. He worked in the Drafting Department in Building #23 for 36 years, and retired in 1991 as a Senior Designer.Nick was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club,Local #147, was communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, was a past member of the Pine Hill Beagle Club and also was a former team manager of Rotterdam Babe Ruth Baseball . He was also a member of the Air National Guard and was activated at the time of the Berlin Crisis. He was honorably discharged in 1964. Nick enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Sacandaga Lake, hunting and fishing, gardening, building model ships and going to the Saratoga Race Track. He is survived by his beloved wife Geraldine Ann Sitterly Colamarino, whom he married on September 19, 1959, two sons; Richard (Jean) Colamarino of Vestaburg, MI. and Michael Colamarino of Schenectady, his sister, Anna Malizia of Schenectady, three grandchildren; Aaron Colamarino of Ann Arbor MI. and Maria Colamarino and Christina Colamarino of Schenectady as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 8:30-10:15 am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. followed at 11 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will follow the Mass at St's Cyril & Method Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Nick's memory to Community Hospice,295 Valley View, Rensselaer, NY, 12144.
