Rotterdam- Nicholas J. "Nick " Capra, 83, at rest Monday December 2, 2013. Nick was born and raised in Schenectady, the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Giallombardo Capra. He was a graduate of Vocational High and was later employed as a machinist at General Electric for 37 years retiring in 1987. A musician, Nick played bass with "The Twilighters". He was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club and a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Nick was the beloved husband of 56 years to Eleanor Spina Capra; beloved brother of the late Rose Lombardi, Betty Mastriani, Samuel S. Capra and Helen Cuoco. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held Thursday, December 5 from 5 to 8pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin 8:15am at the funeral home, followed at 9 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1260 Pleasant St. Schenectady. Nick will be buried in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady. Nick's family would like to thank Dr. Anthony, and Sue Mastroianni, Dr. Edward Lee and Dr. Arthur Vakiener for their kind and diligent care of Nick.
