Rotterdam - Nancy Beth Mognoni died peacefully in the comfort of her home with her close family present on July 7, 2022 following a courageous four year battle with ovarian cancer. Nancy was born to Earl J. and Alice A. Flansburgh on November 10, 1950 in Niskayuna, New York. She graduated from Linton High School and the Chandler School for Women in Boston, Massachusetts. Nancy worked at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL) in Niskayuna, the Ayco Corporation in Latham, and the Regional Emergency Medical Organization in Colonie. While at KAPL, she met the love of her life Richard Mognoni. They had a wonderful 50 years of marriage. Nancy loved wildlife. For over 30 years, she saved many lives including many baby birds and baby squirrels. She also mentored others who needed guidance with wildlife rescue. Nancy loved growing up at her parent's camp at the Great Sacandaga Lake. She also loved family vacationing at the Jersey Shore, and in later years with daughter Lisa and grandson Lucas. Throughout the years, she loved spending sunny summer days by her pool enjoying family, friends, and barbecues and big family dinners for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Nancy was known to everyone for her quick wit and prankish sense of humor. Nancy's greatest and most cherished accomplishment in life are her two daughters. Nancy is survived by her loving husband Richard, daughters Stacy (husband Mel and grandson Koa) and Lisa (husband Michael and grandson Lucas). The Mognoni family would like to recognize the excellent care and compassion provided to Nancy by Dr. Daniel Kredentser of Albany Medical Center during her battle with cancer. Many thanks also to The Community Hospice, especially nurses Laura and Maggie, who made Nancy's last days possible at home and as comfortable as could be for her and the family. In accordance with Nancy's wishes, no calling hours or funeral service will be held. To honor her deep love of animals, memorial contributions may be made to northcountrywildcare.org.
