Guilderland – Nancy L. Brittell, 76, passed away peacefully Friday, January 18, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Nancy was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana on February 11, 1942, daughter of the late Frederick William and Opal (Yoke) Lang. She graduated from Niagara Falls Highschool in 1960. She was the loving wife to the late Ronald N. D. Brittell for over 46 years. Together they raised five children. She will be remembered for her love of her family. In her free time, she loved to read murder mysteries, knit, crochet, solve puzzles, and shop. What she really enjoyed most was travelling and dining out with her husband Ron. She was a former member of the Guilderland Mixed-up-Mixers bowling league for which she was the treasurer for many years. During the summertime you would often find Nancy basking in the sun at Thompson’s Lake enjoying a cold Miller Lite. Nancy was a member of the Guilderland Elks Lodge 2480, where she chaired the Major Projects Committee raising funds for our local Center for Disability Services. In 2005-2006 she was honored as the Elk of the Year. The Elks Lodge was an important part of her life in which she created many friendships along the way. Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Ronald; her brother, Jim Lang; and her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Bock. She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her five children and families, Mark Brittell (Kathy), Karen Tassone (Sal), Dawn Wier (Greg), Valerie Howard (John), and Julie Baldes. She was profoundly proud of her 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Frederick Lang, Robert Lang, and Virginia Rowan. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Nancy’s care giver team, Dr. Coleman, Dr. Navarro and most especially her aides, Elisa, Casey, and Lila for the loving care of their mother. The family will receive friends and loved ones at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Rte 20, Guilderland from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019.
