Morris "Moe" Ziehm

November 19, 1932 — January 16, 2021

Rotterdam – Morris (Moe) Ziehm went home to be with his Lord & Savior January 16, 2021 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, November 19, 1932, he was the son of the late Grover and Clara Ziehm. Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Yvonne. Children Doris Krom (Tom), Douglas Ziehm (Sharon), Deborah Adams (Christopher), Daniel Ziehm (Lucinda). Grandchildren Stacy Eustice (Benjamin), Dr. Stephanie Krom (fiancé Dr. Gabriel Vachon), Jason and Jennifer Forgue, Laura and Elyssa Adams and Lauren Ziehm. Great grandchild Bryce Eustice. He is also survived by his sister Yvonne Ziehm Bricca. Morris was predeceased by his siblings Doris, Chester and Pearl. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1956. Morris graduated in 1959 from the University of Buffalo School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science , then earned a Master of Science in Engineering from Union College. He was an associate professor of mechanical technology at Illinois Central College from 1968-1974. He then worked as an engineer at GE Large Steam Turbine retiring in 1994 after 29 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and an active member of the church council for many years. Calling hours will be held Friday January 22nd from 3-5pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Masks must be worn and all Covid-19 restrictions will be adhered to. Funeral services will be held 10 am Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church 153 Nott Terrace, Schenectady. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Lutheran hour.
