Mona Marie Cuomo

Mona Marie Cuomo, Age 90 of Altamont, NY passed away on February 16, 2025 at the home of her son Brian & daughter-in-law Sharon Cuomo as was her wish not to pass away alone at home. Born in Mariaville, NY the daughter of Horace R. & Doris M. (Duchane) McKeone. She married Frank Cuomo on May 24, 1952. A graduate of Draper High School, she worked as a bank teller as well as a prep cook at Altamont Manor. During World War 2, at the age of 9 and after completing courses on the recognition by sight and sound of aircraft used by all countries involved in the war, she became one of the youngest Recognition Observers for the Ground Observer Corps., under the Army Air Forces. She was involved with the Duanesburg Little League and enjoyed square dancing with friends and family. An avid reader, she also liked working crossword & jigsaw puzzles as well as watching her grandchildren play soccer, basketball and track & field. She is survived by her sons Brian (Sharon) Cuomo & Kevin (Donna) Cuomo. Her grandchildren Kristyn (Forrest) Spencer, Michelle (Johnathan - JJ) Jenkins, Matthew Cuomo & David Cuomo along with her great-granddaughter Madelyn Spencer as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins & cherished friends. Besides her husband & parents, she was predeceased by her brother Horace (Janine) & two sisters Judith (Hank) Lowery & Penny Salisbury. Per her wishes, there will only be a graveside service which will be held on Monday, February 24th at 1:00 at St. Cyril's Cemetery on Duanesburg Rd (Rt 7) in Rotterdam, NY.
