Michele R. (Chiusano) Degeorgia

ROTTERDAM - Michele Rose (Chiusano) DeGeorgia, age 76, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.  She was born on March 7, 1948, in Schenectady, New York at St. Clare's Hospital.  Michele attended Draper High School and received her diploma in 1966.  During her high school years, she was a majorette.  She then went on to earn her nursing degree at Albany Medical School of Nursing in 1970.  She pursued her career as a passionate and caring registered nurse, until she retired in 2001.

Michele was a devoted wife of almost 52 years and cherished her two children more than anything in this world.  She was a lifelong New York Yankees and UCONN Huskies College Basketball fan.  She enjoyed reading, shopping, traveling, roller skating, ice skating, playing Words with Friends, being with her family and loved the ocean.

Michele was predeceased by her parents, Michael A. Chiusano and Rosemarie N. DiCerbo.  Besides her parents, she is also predeceased by her sister-in law, Joanne Chiusano and her lifelong best friend Linda Ralbovsky.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 52 years, Anthony J. DeGeorgia Jr. and her beloved children, Christine M. DeGeorgia of Schenectady, NY and Daniel A. DeGeorgia of Saratoga Springs, NY.  She also leaves behind her dear brothers and sister-in-laws, Robert M Chiusano (the late Joanne), Dean E. Chiusano (Laurie), Michael J. Chiusano (Lori), David J. Chiusano (Rose).  Michele is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She will also be greatly missed by her dog Molly.  She was very fortunate to have many friends because she had the biggest heart and sweetest soul.

Calling hours will be held Monday, April 8th from 8:30 to 10:30am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam, New York.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Road, Rotterdam, New York followed by interment in Sts. Cyril Method Cemetery, 611 Duanesburg Road, Rotterdam, New York. Contributions in Michele’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
