Michael L Rogozinski

d. September 16, 2017

Michael L. Rogozinski, 54, of Rotterdam, died on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Michael was born in Manhattan, NY. He has lived in Schenectady all of his life and graduated from Mohonasen High School in 1981. He received his degree in Political Science from Siena in 1985 and his Masters in Education from Sage Graduate School. Michael began his teaching career as a social studies teacher at Chatham High School. He also taught at Capital Region BOCES and at The School at Northeast Parent & Child. In 2014 Michael took a position as an Education Reviewer with the NYS Department of Education. One of Michael's proudest accomplishments was earning the rank of Eagle Scout as did both of his sons. He was an avid Volleyball player and coached at several area high schools over the years. He was also a member of the Schenectady War Gamers Association (SWA). Michael always found the time to be available when you needed him. He considered his greatest accomplishments to be his two sons, David and William. And he will be remembered by his family for his sense of pride, honesty, patience, and his t-shirt and sweatshirt collection. He was adored by his grandson, Zachary - who took great joy in the many adventures they had together. His father proclaimed that his sons had lost a good father and his wife had lost a good husband. Michael was predeceased by his mother, Mildred Tiscione Rogozinski. He is survived by his wife, Miriam Giller, two sons; David Rogozinski and William Rogozinski, his father; Leo Rogozinski, his grandson; Zachary Rogozinski, one sister; Carol Rogozinski, his mother in law; Marcia Giller, brothers and sisters in law; Daniel and Lisa Giller and Andrew and Anne Giller, and nieces and nephews; Joshua Appleford, Elizabeth Walker, Molly Giller, Samuel Giller, Derek Redman and Darren Redman. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning, at 10 am at St. Gabriel’s Church, 3040 Hamburg St. Schenectady. The family requests that donations be made in Michael’s memory to a food drive or food bank of one’s choice.
