Michael R. “Mickey” Mauriello, 68, of Rotterdam, passed peacefully at home with his beloved wife by his side, on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Mickey was born in Niskayuna to the late Anthony and Marie DeMarco Mauriello. He was a graduate of Bishop Gibbon’s High School in 1966 and also attended Hudson Valley Community College. He was employed by the N.Y.S. Office of General Services as Superintendent of the Executive Mansion in Albany during the terms of former Gov. Mario M. Cuomo. Subsequent to his retirement in 2003, he worked as a manager at Mallozzi’s in Rotterdam for 20 years. He was also a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Schenectady. Mickey had many interests, although above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends as a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend to so many. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Rosemary Zullo Mauriello, his children; Michael W. Mauriello of Saratoga Springs, Katherine M. (Craig) Mahoney of Colonie, Amy C. Wallace of Clifton Park, step son; Jeffrey W. (Jennifer) Baron of Scotia, his sister; Marlene A. Mauriello of Rotterdam, four grandchildren; Jordan Marie, Bryan Michael, Peyton Anne and Giuliana Marlena, his brothers and sisters in law; Ralph J. and Elizabeth Zullo, Robert W. Haman, Benny and Jennifer Zullo, Tracy Zullo, and Christine and David Sarraino. Mickey is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-8pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue in Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 10:15am from the funeral home, followed by an 11am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant Street in Schenectady. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St. Schenectady, or to The Community Hospice, 310 S.
