Michael E Lohaus

Michael E. Lohaus,74, formerly of Evelyn Drive in Guilderland, died on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in Middletown, Delaware with his daughter and son in law at his bedside. Mike was born in Schenectady, NY on November 3rd, 1939 to August (Gus) and Loretta Lohaus. Upon graduation from Linton High School, he entered the US Navy. Mike served for several years aboard the USS Saratoga and was honorably discharged in 1961.Following his discharge, Mike worked for 24 years for the General Electric Co. and later retired from NY State OGS. He married the love of his life, Margaret Mae Condon on April 28th, 1962.They were married for 49 years until Peggy's passing in August of 2011. Mike leaves behind his only child, Lorilyn Dapolito and her husband Dennis Dapolito of Middletown, Delaware, his two grandsons, Nicholas and Jack Dapolito, two brothers August (Fred) Lohaus and James Lohaus, and his sister, Nancy (Ralph) Mauro, all of Schenectady, his brother and sister in law Jack and Dawn Colangelo of Ballston Spa and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Demarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 western Tpk. (Rt. 20) in Guilderland on Monday July 21st at 11:00 am.
