Maryann “Mare” Ziobrowski, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025 with her loving family by her side. She spent her last several weeks in her daughter’s home, where her days were filled with love, laughter, and all of her favorite things. Her presence was a constant source of comfort and her kindness and grace touched the lives of many.
Maryann was born on May 13, 1946 in Schenectady and was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Sylvia Mancini Palombo. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and her first job was as a secretary at Schenectady County Airport. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, William “Bill” Ziobrowski, whom she married on September 4, 1965. Her primary job and joy was raising her children. When her children were grown, Maryann worked as a busdriver for the Mohonasen School District.
Maryann had a deep love for God and was devoted to her Catholic faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Taking family trips to Wildwood Crest, NJ and Cape May, NJ as a child and throughout her life with her family was something she looked forward to each summer. She loved and felt at peace at the ocean. Maryann loved participating in sports as a child and was an avid NY Yankees fan. She was always talking about the games with her children and grandchildren. She was a dedicated gram and could always be found cheering on her grandkids at ball games and dance recitals. Maryann loved watching Hallmark movies and shows and most recently enjoyed watching a few Netflix series with her family. She loved sitting on her screened in porch and always looked forward to the summer months. In recent years she was able to spend these relaxing times with her loyal mini labradoodle, Luca.
Maryann is survived by her children, David Ziobrowski (Susan), John Ziobrowski (Jennifer), and Kristen Graber (Josh) and her beloved grandchildren Justin (Celia), Nicholas, Julianna, Jaden, Ava, John Thomas and Ella. She also leaves behind her loving sisters Barbara Smith and Judy Williams (Bill), as well as several nieces and nephews and friends.
Maryann and her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to her dedicated care team: Nicole and Colleen from Saratoga County Community Hospice, Connie from Saratoga Hospital and family friend and end of life nurse, Sylvana DiLeva. And thank you to Meg Parobeck, who supported Maryann for the past few years after Bill’s passing. They also wish to recognize the nurses and staff at NYOH Clifton Park for their compassionate care over the last few years. A special and enduring thank you goes to Dr. Rufus Collea - he will forever hold a special place in the “Queen’s” heart.
A calling hour will be held on Monday, April 28th from 9 to 10am at St. Mary’s Church, 167 Milton Ave., Ballston Spa, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. She will then be interred at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maryann’s name may be made to NYOH Community Cancer Foundation, 449 Route 146, Suite 101, Clifton Park, NY 12065. Arrangements by DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, Rotterdam. Condolences can be posted at demarcostonefuneralhome.com.
