August 22, 1963 – December 3, 2020 Maryland – Mary Beth Truman passed away on December 3, 2020 with her daughter by her side. She was 57. A beacon of eccentricity, calling Mary unique would be an understatement. Witty, intelligent, creative, and kind to a fault. Her passion for music was second only to the size of her heart. All who met her, remember her. Her last days were spent in Maryland with lifelong friend, Nadine Geier and her beloved cat, Sharon. She is survived by her daughter, Kayleigh Truman; sister, Mandi Conroy (Chris);stepfather, Ralph VanDerHyden, and nieces and nephew Erin, Sophie and Peter. She was predeceased by her father, Robert Truman; mother, Edith VanDerHyden; and sister, Madelyn Flagler. While she left us much too soon, she would not want us to mourn too long. To honor her memory, please do a kind deed for someone, dance to your favorite music with all your soul, or remind those you love most you are glad they are here. Donations may be made in Mary’s memory to: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Behind the Scenes Mental Health and Suicide Prevention or the American Humanist Association. Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 14 from 4-6 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Masks and social distancing will be required. A service will follow at 6 pm. Interment will be at a later date at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
