Mary J (Abbatiello) Poulin

Schenectady – Mary Poulin went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday April 5, 2018. Born in South River, NJ, on March 19, 1916, she was the daughter of Carmine and Florinda Abbatiello. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Francis A. Poulin, along with all her siblings, Anthony Abbatiello, Joseph Donadio, Frank Donadio, Sid Donadio, Myrtle Benedict, James Donadio, Patsy “Puck” Donadio, Louis Donadio and Anne Donadio. She is the mother to Christina (Robert) Kelly of Oldsmar, FL, Beatrice Retersdorf of Glenville and Donna Miranda of Clifton Park. The grandmother to Robert (Nanette) Kelly and Christina Kelly of Oldsmar, FL, Ronda (Stephen) Garry of Colonie and Kim Larson of Delanson, AnnaMaria Abrams of Cumberland, RI, Patrick (Angela) Miranda of Virginia Beach, VA and Michael (Colleen) Miranda of Cumming, GA. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Sister-in-law to Margaret (Anthony) Abbatiello of Rotterdam. Mary was known as “Aunt Boots” to several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Oakland Healthcare Center in Woonsocket, RI. Mary was a nurse’s aide at the Glendale Nursing Home for many years retiring in 1978 to care for her granddaughter AnnaMaria. She was very active in her Church, Calvary Tabernacle Assemblies of God Church in Schenectady, which was pioneered in her parents’ home in the 1920’s under Pastor Felix Rizzo. She was head of the nursery department, sang in the choir, was secretary of the women’s ministries (WM’s) and was also on the pulpit committee. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 9-11 am at Calvary Tabernacle A/G Church 1840 Albany St., Schenectady, NY 12304. An 11 am Funeral service will immediately follow. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Calvary Tabernacle A/G Church or to the City Mission of Schenectady 425 Hamilton St., Schenectady, NY 12305.
