Princetown - Mary E. Pelton, age 75, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2020 with her family beside her. She was born on November 13, 1944 to Arthur E. Fessenden and Helen (Wagner) McCullough. She married her loving husband Lawrence R. Pelton on July 23, 1966. Mary was a dedicated employee at Ellis hospital where she provided compassion and care to thousands of patients during a 44 year career. The passion to help others continued into retirement as Mary volunteered at the local food pantry and the West Glenville Reformed Church. The impact Mary had on her family and friends was made clear by the many visitors and the tears that were shed by her side during her final days. We take comfort knowing that Mary’s wonderful heart beats on in her three children and five grandchildren. More than anything, Mary loved to spend time with her family. She was always found on the sidelines or bleachers at her grandchildren’s basketball, soccer, and hockey games when not shopping or vacationing with her daughter. Mary is survived by her husband, Larry; her three children, Randy, Jason (Tracie), and Robin, as well as five grandchildren, Jarrett, Ryan, Jacob, Troy, and Cristina. She is also survived by her sister Carol (John) Tobiassen; half-sisters, Nancy (Dave) Schumacher, Anne (Robert) Frost and Jean (Jeff) D’Alessandro; and step-sister Cathy (George) O’Brien and step-brother Charles (Judy) McCullough as well as several nieces and nephews. Family, friends, and others whose lives Mary touched are invited to DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Heldeberg Ave, Schenectady, NY 12306 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with a 3:00 PM Memorial Service, on Saturday, January 18, 2020. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Mary’s memory to the Scotia Glenville Food Pantry, 132 Mohawk Ave., Scotia, NY 12302 or the West Glenville Reformed Church, 2172 W. Glenville Rd., Amsterdam, NY 12010.
