Rotterdam- Mary J. Pecora, 95, found her rest with the Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2014. Born in Scotia, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Severio "Sam" and Gloria (Catrambone) Voci. She was a graduate of Scotia High School and was employed for many years as an Administrative Supervisor for the NYS Department of Social Services in Albany. Until recently, she was an active communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Schenectady. Mary was the beloved wife for 70 years of the late Anthony "Tony" Pecora (2011); beloved mother of William (Karen) Pecora of Tampa, Florida and Kathleen (James) Beswick of Glenville; loving grandmother of Veronica Beswick and her husband Matthew Ross of Scotia and Theresa Malinowski and her husband Justin Malinowski of Princeton, NJ; caring great grandmother of Lorelai Beswick-Ross and Giuliana Beswick-Ross; beloved sister of the late Joseph Voci, Elizabeth DiNicola, and Anne Senecal. Mary is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mary was strongly committed to her family and very active in several organizations with her husband Tony, including the Schenectady and Rotterdam Elks and numerous bowling leagues for over 40 years. She also provided support to the local Cub Scouts troop. Mary thoroughly enjoyed cooking and sewing, bowling and golf with friends, traveling with Tony, a drink before dinner, and holiday events spent with her family. The family wishes to thank the doctors who treated Mary and the staff of Home Instead Senior Care - Schenectady for their tireless assistance with her continuing care. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 18 from 5 to 8 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin Wednesday 8:15am at the funeral home, followed at 9 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1260 Pleasant St. Schenectady. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
