Mary M (Mccartin) Nuzzaco

Rotterdam - Mary M. Nuzzaco, 92, of Bayberry Rd., passed away Saturday December 29, 2012 at Ellis Hospital. Born September 5, 1920 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of Francis and Malvinia (Kiraly) McCartin. Mary graduated from the former Mt. Pleasant High School, class of 1938. She began working for the General Electric Co. during WWII and completed 12 years of service. She then worked at Trustco Bank for 30 years (5 years at the Crane St. Branch and 25 years at the Rotterdam Branch) before retiring in 1997. Devoted to her home and family, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.Mary was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a communicant of St. Gabriel's Church. Her husband, Gaetano S. "Tom" Nuzzaco, died in 2003. Mary was also predeceased by her sister, Teresa Leguire and two great-grandchildren Joseph and Kathryne, now angels in Heaven with her. She is survived by her three sons: Mark Nuzzaco, and his wife Diane, of Leesburg, VA; Joseph Nuzzaco, and his wife Elizabeth, of Atlanta, GA; and Jeffrey Nuzzaco of Rotterdam, NY. Mary is also survived by grandchildren Elaine Nuzzaco, Thomas Nuzzaco and his wife Rachael, Matthew Nuzzaco, William Nuzzaco and his wife Tiare, Christopher Nuzzaco, and Timothy Nuzzaco; as well as great-grandchildren Christopher, Adam, Stephen, Samuel, Oliver, Arthur, and Elizabeth, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Friday from 6 to 8 P.M. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Saturday at St. Gabriel's Church, 3040 Hamburg St., Rotterdam.Burial will follow at Vale Cemetery in Schenectady.
