Mary H. Madelone "Nonny", passed away peacefully atthe age of 86 on September 18,2014, surrounded by her family at home. Born to Salvatore and Marianne Pagano in Pittston, PA, her family later moved to Schenectady, N.Y. She attended Mont Pleasant High School. She later married Joseph Madelone, moving to Colonie where she raised her family. Throughout her life, Mary worked various jobs, including Canteen Corp., where she retired after a long career as a key punch operator. She enjoyed working hard around her house, including gardening and helping her family. There wasn't much Nonny was afraid of doing, especially when it came to helping her family. She loved to make weekly trips to the Saratoga Casino. She called them "going to work". She had a very close friendship with her neighbor of many years, Ernie Fountain. "I'm walking over to Ernie's for a beer" was one of her favorite things to do. Taking care of her dog, JoJo, was her passion. She was a loving, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, friend and neighbor. Mary was predeceased by: her husband, Joseph Madelone, who died in 1965; her siblings, Josephine Suraci, Charlie Pagano, Carmella Pompilio, Jenny Shields, Antoinette Morales and Nick Pagano. She is survived by: her brother, Sam Pagano of Schenectady, N.Y.; her children, Joseph (Beth) Madelone of Colonie, Debbie (Mike) Fink of Colonie; six grandchildren, six great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A calling period will be held Saturday morning from 9 to 11am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam.A funeral service will begin at 11 am at the funeral home followed by burial will at St's Cyril and Method Cemetery, Rotterdam
