Rotterdam – Mary V. Galarneau, 76, passed away Saturday January 5, 2019 after an extended illness. Born in Albany, Mary was the daughter of the late Herman and Irene Robbie Marshburn. A graduate of Albany High School, Mary worked for the State of New York and retired in 1996. She was a member of the Rotterdam Home Bureau and the Ladies of the Rotterdam Elks. Mary enjoyed needlework as well as camping, traveling and cruising. Her husband, Lionel (Lee) Galarneau, whom she married on June 8, 1963, passed away in 2013. She is survived by her two daughters; Michelle (Andy) Gauthier of Essex, VT and Lisa (Anthony) Casapullo of Clifton Park and three grandchildren; Leo Gauthier of Michigan, Elizabeth Mendez of New York and Mary Gauthier of California. She also leaves her sister, Arlene Langford as well as Irene, Scott and Olivia Suckman. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin 8 am Thursday at the funeral home followed by a 9 am Mass of Christian Burial at The Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. (Rt. 50) in Glenville. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Waterford, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Glenville Senior Center in Mary’s name.
