Mary Katherine Dvorscak

September 16, 1927 — May 12, 2023

Albany, NY- Mary Katherine Dvorscak, 95, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2023, at Glendale Home.

Affectionately known as Mary Kay or M. K., she was born on September 16, 1927 in Schenectady, N.Y. to Nellie and Edgar Trombley. She attended school at St. Columba’s School.

Mary Kay was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Dvorscak and her brothers Edgar, William and Burton Trombley.  Prior to her marriage, Mary Kay worked as an advertising salesperson for the Union Star newspaper. After marrying Andy, she focused on raising her seven children and was a dedicated homemaker. She later worked as a sales representative for Kayser/Neka Beauty Supply Company.

Mary Kay was a fun loving and welcoming person, determined to provide the best for her family. She enjoyed hosting family get togethers and spending time with her friends from St. Madeleine Sophie Church in Guilderland, were she worshipped and was a member of the Christ Child Society. Mary Kay prayed the rosary several times a day for the intentions and well being of family and friends. Everyone knew how strong her faith was and often times, acquaintances would say, “Ask your mother to keep me in her prayers.”

Mary Kay is survived by her children Andrew (Ruth) Dvorscak, Maryellen (John Howard) Evertsen, Stephen (Mark) Dvorscak, William (Marian) Dvorscak, Mark (Nancy) Dvorscak, Suzanne Edmunds, and Thomas (Tami) Dvorscak, as well as her fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She loved the company of her grandchildren, her ‘pride and joy’, and said that they kept her young.

She is also survived by her brothers Donald (Betty) Trombley and Frederick Trombley, along with several nieces and nephews.  Mary Kay’s family would like to thank the staff at Glendale Home for their care and many kindnesses.
