Mary Demania

Schenectady -Mary DeMania 96, born on April 30, 1927 passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness on November 27, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Filomena Davi. She was the wife of the late Albert DeMania and predeceased by her son Ricky DeMania. She was predeceased by her brother Gabriel Davi (Carmelinda) of Schenectady, and her sister Rose Fledderman (Ronald) of Texas.

Survived by her siblings, Louise Sikorski (Michael) of Schenectady, Salvatore Davi (Joan), and Pauline Davi of Rotterdam.

Survivors include her daughter Diana Taylor of Schenectady, her son Alan DeMania (Jean) of Niskayuna, and her daughter Janet DeMania of Rotterdam, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary celebrated her catholic faith and was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She donated her time and generosity to OLMC and NDBG in various ways while her children attended both of these catholic schools. She was a loving mother and homemaker and cherished spending time with her family and friends. She worked for General Electric and Campbell Plastics until retirement at age 70.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue Rotterdam, NY 12306 on Tuesday December 5, 2023 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 2155 Pleasant Street Schenectady, NY 12303 on Wednesday December 6, 2023 at 11:00am followed by a Christian burial service at St John’s Cemetery on Brandywine Avenue in Schenectady.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mary DeMania to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or of any charity of one’s choice .
