Scotia - Mary D. Curiale, 86, of Ruby Blvd., passed away Tuesday September 16, 2014 at Westchester Medical Center after a short illness. Born on June 19, 1928 in Schenectady, Mary was the daughter of Modestino and Amelia Roca. Mary graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and went on to work for over 30 years as a dental assistant for Dr. Stillman, Dr. Lanka and Dr. Wright. She was a fulltime youth sports mom willing to drive to any game and also canvassed for many charities. Mary will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful and considerate neighbor. She was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart/St. Columbus and St. Joseph's Parishes where she frequently volunteered at Church functions and was a member of St. Anne's society. Mary enjoyed doing crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, arts & crafts. Her husband, Francis E. Curiale, whom she married on June 29, 1952, passed away on November 29, 1985. She is survived by her son, Jess J. Curiale and his wife Stefania (Stefanie) of Ballston Spa, NY. Her grandson; Jared Curiale of Ballston Spa, NY. Her sister; Concetta Macey of Florida and her sister-in-law, Beatrice Bertram of California. Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by her two sisters, Anne Restina and Josephine Goodman and her brother, Jerry Roca. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the burn unit of Westchester Medical Center for their loving care. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin 9:15 a.m Monday at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church, 600 State St., Schenectady.
