Sarasota, FL - Mary "Madeline" (Rice) Bean-Witecki passed away suddenly on October 10th, 2017 in her winter home in Sarasota, Florida. Madeline is predeceased by her parents, Edmond & Anna Mae Rice, the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Bean and Chester Witecki. Madeline worked as a department manager at Barker’s Department Store, she lovingly cared for people as a Home Health Aide, and retired from Mohonasen Central School District as a bus monitor. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and most recently enjoyed her surroundings in Florida. Madeline gave back to her community by being a member of the Rotterdam District 2 Auxiliary, and the Lore of the Rotterdam Elks. She was a communicant of St. Gabriel’s Church. She is survived by her brother, Edmond (Shar) Rice and her children, Robert (Robyn) Bean, Deborah (Paul) Swint, and is predeceased by her son, David (Myra) Bean. Madeline also leaves behind 7 grandchildren; Paul (Jessica) Swint III, Jeremy Swint, Jaime Bean, Daniel (Deborah) Bean, Zachary Bean, Brandi (Ryan) Mayott and Christopher Bean, and 9 great-grandchildren; Angelica Swint, Cheyanne Swint, Paul Swint IV, Robert Swint, Nathaniel Bean, Kara Bean & Aaron, Evelyn and Kate Mayott. Services will be held on Thursday Nov. 2nd 5pm -7pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, Helderberg Ave. A prayer service will take place at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated in her name to Rotterdam District 2 Fire Department Auxiliary, 1400 Curry Rd. Schenectady, NY 12306.
