Schenectady – Mary Alice Fields, 83, of Schenectady passed away at home on Thursday, June 22, 2023.
Mary Alice was born in Schenectady June 7, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Ward.
Mary Alice was a lifelong resident of Schenectady. She attended St. Joseph’s Academy where she graduated in 1957 and met the love of her life Donald.
Mary Alice worked for the Schenectady City School District for more than two decades. Prior to that she worked for the State of New York, and the telephone company.
Mary’s life was centered around her family. She loved watching sports and was an avid fan of the New York Mets.
She was a 50-year member of St. Elizabeth’s Auxiliary #93 and a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Church.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Don, who passed away November 28, 2022, and her sisters Janet and Marguerite.
She is survived by her loving four children Karen Corona, Donna DeNeuville (Brian), Donny Fields (Charissa), and Charlene Boynton-Carter (Joe), her sister Barbara Gillooley and brothers Richard, Jim, and Dennis (Patty) Ward. She is also survived by her grandchildren Felicia Irvine (Lucas), Kacie Corona, Cameron, Logan and Jordan DeNeuville, Lucas Boynton (Ciara) and two step-grandchildren Ryan and Sydney Carter and Zackary Boynton and Nicole Fields. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren Jackson, Waylon, and Penelope Irvine. She was excited about welcoming a great-grandson coming in September.
Mary Alice’s family extends gratitude to her healthcare providers and Rotterdam Schenectady Dialysis Center.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 600 State St. Schenectady, NY 12305, followed by a mass of Christian burial beginning at 12:15 p.m. Mary Alice will be laid to rest at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady.
