Schenectady - Martin E. Slurff, 47, passed away suddenly on Monday February 10, 2014. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Edward and Dorothy Krall Slurff. Martin was a graduate of Linton High School and was a tractor trailer driver his whole working life driving for various trucking companies in the capital district. Everyone loved Martin and he will be remembered as a person who lit up the room when he entered it. You could just feel his presence in a room and you would never forget him once you met him. He will be forever missed. He is survived by his daughter, Emily Slurff (her fiancée Krista Russo) of Esperance. His niece, Andrea Rodriguez of Virginia. His nephew, Fred Slurff of Rotterdam. His sister-in-law, Heidi Slurff of Rotterdam. Martin is also survived by his former wife and friend, Amy Roach of Esperance. Along with his parents, Martin was predeceased by his two brothers, Frank and Frederick Slurff and his sister, Donna Slurff. Calling hours, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Friday from 6-8 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam.
