Martin E Ranze

Martin E. Ranze, 83, of Rotterdam, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Ellis Hospital. Martin was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Jerry and Matilda Capullo Ranze. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea as a Heavy Artillery Specialist and was honorably discharged in 1953. Martin worked as a Supervisor in the Print Data Services Department at General Electric and retired with over 40 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, golf, crossword puzzles and playing the Lottery numbers.Martin was an avid Yankee and New York Giant fan. He loved animals, especially his cat, Velour. In addition to his parents, Martin was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Georgianna Ham Ranze, who died in 2009, and brother, John Ranze. He is survived by his son, Gary M. Ranze and daughter in law Terri Ann (Garibaldi) Ranze of Rotterdam, three grandchildren, Dana (Michael) Gleason of Long Island, Eric Ranze and Lea Ranze of Rotterdam, his beloved friend, Annie Donato of Rotterdam as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 5-8 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin on Friday morning, 10 am at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at St's Cyril & Method Cemetery.
