Marlene Jane (Pratt) Pachucki

Schenectady – Marlene Jane (Pratt) Pachucki, age 86, passed away, peacefully, with her family by her side on Saturday, January 28th, 2023. Marlene was born on January 7, 1937 in Schenectady and was the daughter of the late Frederic W. Pratt and Margaret J. (Salisbury) Pratt. To honor the most incredible women in the world (and anyone who met her would agree.) Where to begin… Marlene loved her family and had her faith along with a wealth of LOVE and generosity to give all of the world. She had the ability to see the good in anyone. Besides her devotion and love for her children Billy, Sandy, Janet and Margie, Marlene adored her brothers and sisters and had the best memories of her mother and father (her heroes, all of them.) She never missed a birthday and made every one of her children feel like a celebrity and shared how proud of them she was, with everyone. She loved her grandchildren and spoiling them was her favorite thing. Her daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and god children were also a big part of her life. She was a very selfless person who always put others before herself. A bridal consultant for 33 years, she loved her job and found joy in making every bride-to-be happy. Marlene had a passion for NYC that she loved to share with the people she loved. Music fed her soul, especially Jazz music. She was a talented tap dancer and was always the first one up and on any dancefloor. Survivors include her children, Billy Pachucki (Malinda), Sandy Koonz (Jeff), Janet Cooper (Gavin) and Margie Pachucki; her 9 beloved grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren as well as her nieces, nephews and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law. A visitation to which family and friends are invited will take place on Sunday from 1-3pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue in Rotterdam. A prayer service will begin at 3pm. Marlene will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery at a later date.
