Scotia- MarkKarikas, 48, of Virginia Blvd passed away at The Hospice Inn at St Peter's Hospital on May 13, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Schenectady on June 12, 1964 a son of Steve and Barbara Beers Karikas. Mark was an avid Mets and New York Giants fan and loved to travel. He is lovingly remembered by his family as a devotedhusband, son, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. Besides his Father and his Mother, Mark is survived by his wife Kimberly (Clough) Karikas of Scotia; his children Mark L. Karikas, Kristen Fuller, Crystal Clough and Scott Thompson all of Rotterdam. He is also survived by his siblings Michele (John) Williams Sypniewski of Schenectady, Barbara (David) Hummer of Ballston Spa, Stephen Karikas of Glenville, and Joseph Karikas of Schenectady. Mark is also survived by 5 grandchildren Tyler Lohman, Jayden, Jayce and Laiylah Davis and Brianna Dudley all of Rotterdam and several nieces and nephews. Mark was predeceased by his son, Garrett Thompson in 2012 and a sister, Robin Williams Graham in 1987. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 5 pm to 8 pm.Funeral services will held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Dunnsville Road Rotterdam.
