Mark J. Byrnes

Duanesburg – Mark J. Byrnes, 73, a loving husband, son, father, grandfather of 3 and great grandfather of 2 passed away peacefully on Monday February 2, 2026.

Born in Niskayuna, he was the son of Stephen and Helen (Fenn) Byrnes.

After Mark’s retirement from the General Electric Co. after 37 years, he loved working with wood and enjoyed making bird whirlygigs and giving them to friends and family.

Mark’s family meant everything to him.

He leaves behind his wife of over 50 years (51 in April), Judith A. (Bailey) Byrnes.

Three children Joelene, Jason and Justin.

Three siblings Marie Barnes, Chris Marotta and Stephen Byrnes.

He also leaves behind his dog Mel.

Along with his parents Mark was predeceased by his son Jason and his sister Lorraine Riggins.

The family extends their special thanks to the staff at the Glendale Home for all their kindness and love.

There will be no visiting hours, services and the burial will be private.

A celebration of life will take place in the spring.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
