Marjorie L. Hladik, 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31st, surrounded by her family. She was born in Schenectady, NY where she graduated from Linton High School, and was married to her loving husband John for more than 56 years. She later pursued a career in banking, and retired from Bank of America in 2003 after working 20 years as a customer service representative, and was an active member of the Ladies of the Rotterdam Elks. Her passion was always caring for her family, and she thrilled to attend every game, meet, or event where she could cheer on her three children, and later, her eight grandchildren. She also loved cooking, especially when she could gather the whole family around the table, whether it was for holidays, birthdays or just weekly dinners. Marge is pre-deceased by her sister, Barbara Brenneman, and is survived by her adoring husband, John P. Hladik, her sons John (Ana), Anthony (Marci), and Jeffrey (Jessica) Hladik, her grandchildren Alysia, Sarah, Amanda, Nikki, Benjamin, Samuel, Xavier and Malcolm, and her sisters Peggy (Al) Rotter and Ginger (Bob) Chmielewski. On Tuesday morning, September 5th, at 10:00 AM, a memorial mass celebrating her life will be held at St. Gabriel’s Church, 3040 Hamburg St, Rotterdam NY, with an internment to follow at St. Cyril and Method Cemetery, 611 Duanesburg Rd, Rotterdam NY.
