SCHENECTADY - Marisa Lynn Moutray 27, passed away at home peacefully on Tuesday September 19, 2023 as a result of an unknown, undiagnosed heart condition.
Born in Schenectady, the loving daughter of Michael and Lisa (McGrath) Moutray.
Marisa was a 2014 graduate of Mohonasen High School. After graduation she continued her studies at the University of Albany, earning her master’s degree in psychology, graduating with high honors from that course of studies in May of 2023. Marisa had intentions to pursue her doctorate degree in psychology while gaining practical experience in her field.
Marisa currently worked for Sodexo at Schenectady’s GE campus as an Assistant Manager, while also maintaining her position as a Mental Health Counselor at Experiential Mental Health Counseling LLC, in Troy NY. A position that she worked hard to maintain and one that she was very proud of, helping those in need.
Those who know Marisa will remember her as a free spirit who lit up a room with her infectious smile. In her time of leisure, she enjoyed reading, gardening, listening to music, or thrift shopping for vintage clothing. She had a style all her own, she was never one to follow a trend, yet she preferred to set her own. That she did, her attire was always a surprise to family & friends when Marisa arrived at a gathering or family function. Marisa shared a special, unmistakable bond with her nephew Finnegan, who she affectionately referred to as “Finny or Goobs.”
Marisa is survived by her parents Michael & Lisa/Mama (McGrath) Moutray and her stepfather Daniel Bolton. Her loving sister Amber (Seester), bother-in-law, Ian (E-Win) Webster, brother Michael (Mikey) Moutray, Nephew Finnegan (Goober) Webster, Niece Sofia Moutray, Stepbrother Justin Bolton, Grandparents, David (Gramps) & Deborah McGrath (Grammy), Michael Sr. & Karen Moutray, Aunt Stacy & Uncle Steve Ullman, cousins, Karlie Ullman, Katie Ullman, and her beloved cat daughter Suki.
