Marion S Malin

Rotterdam- Marion S. Malin, 97, formerly of Continental Road, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2017 at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Guilderland. She was born on October 4, 1919 in Schenectady, a daughter of the late James W. and Ruth G .Lewis Smith. Marion worked at General Electric Company and Kline General Tire Company. She is survived by her daughter; Laura A. Gallagher, and her husband William P. Gallagher ,her grandson Jason A. and his wife Michelle Rowe, grandson Stephen M. Herring III and his companion April Giacumo granddaughter Jessica N. Malin and grandson Jordan Malin and great grandchildren Kayla N. Rowe, Juliana M. Rowe, and Christian C. Rowe, Raegan J. Herring and Jared Giacumo. Marion is also survived by her nieces and nephews Milton (Nancy) Danko, Elizabeth (Al) Kane, William (Connie) Danko ,William Malin and Robert (Elfrieda) Malin. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony Malin in 1975 , her son James D. Malin in 2016 her nephew Anthony “Tony” Danko and her nieces Wilamina “Billy” Malin Ambrosino and Barbara Malin Bartosik. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam NY on Thursday February 2, 2017 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral services will begin at 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Schenectady Memorial Park on Friday February 3 2017 at 10 am. The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to all of the staff members at The Grand for their loving and compassionate care provided to Marion. Also a special thank you to Kamal who befriended Marion during her stay and watched over her.
