Marie V (Zottola) Mastandrea

Guilderland - Marie V. (Zottola ) Mastandrea lost her courageous battle with kidney disease on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital. Marie was born in the Bronx on April 6, 1947 and was the only child of the late Sylvestro Zottola and Elinore Zottola. Marie resided in Albany for the past 39 years. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 45 years, Frank J. Mastandrea, Jr. ; her Mother, Eleanor Zottola of Albany, NY; her brother-in-law Robert Mastandrea and wife Alison of Roscoe, NY; her sister-in-law Michele Mastandrea Tombini and John Tombini of New Rochelle, NY; her niece Lauren Marie Mastandrea of Roscoe, NY; her loving cousins, friends and her dedicated caregivers. Marie graduated from James Monroe High School and Bronx Community College. She secured a job with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance as a Tax Examiner and held that position until her retirement in 2002. Marie met her best friend and husband Frank in 1969. They were married on May 28, 1972 and resided in Rockland County until they moved to the Albany area. Marie was loved by all for her sweet disposition and caring heart. Frank was by her side as she bravely battled her kidney disease. Marie was courageous no matter what challenges she faced and was respected by all who were blessed to know her. The family will receive visitors Saturday, October 7 during the hours of 10 AM to 12 PM at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Turnpike (just west of Carman Rd.) Guilderland, NY. There will be a 12 pm prayer service at the funeral home followed by interment at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Vasculitis Foundation or to a charity of one's choice.
