Maria Gilroy

August 11, 1940 — October 22, 2024

Maria Gilroy, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great
Grandmother passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024 at
Kingsway Arms Nursing Home.
Maria will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years,
William Gilroy. Her daughters, Erika (Mark) Magnone, Carol M. Zakor
and Elizabeth Zakor. Grandchildren, Evan (Laura) Magnone, Adam
(Nikki) Magnone and Great Grandson, Max Magnone.
Born in Akali, Hungary, Maria came to the United States in 1960. She
worked at General Electric for many years. Cooking Hungarian meals,
baking sweets, gardening, reading, watching The Young & The
Restless and spending time with her family were her joys in life. Maria
was an independent, strong, hardworking women who never
complained. She always had great words of wisdom and life lessons
to share with all. Loved by everyone who met her, she had an
undeniable laugh and zest for life. She will be missed everyday.
Anyu is now enjoying peaceful, quiet moments just as she always
wanted.
The Family would like to thank Kingsway Arms Nursing Home,
C and D wings for taking the best care of Maria.

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 1, 2024 at 1:30pm,
Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 2501 Troy Schenectady Rd,
Niskayuna, NY
