Maria Teresa Franco

Maria Teresa Franco, born November 17, 1949, in Ruviano, Italy, passed away on September 21, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Mario Franco, devoted mother of Gianpaolo and Fabio, and cherished mother-in-law to Nina and Sofia. She was predeceased by her parents, Andrea Cusano and Pellegrina Civitella, and is survived by her brother, Domenico Cusano (Sandra), and niece and nephew, Anna and Andy Cusano. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Gioia, Gianluca, Valentina, and Viviana, who were truly the lights of her life.

A gifted seamstress and master of her craft, Maria owned and operated M Franco Alteration Shop, where she became known throughout the area for her remarkable skill, precision, and attention to detail. Beyond her work, Maria was someone who never hesitated to lend a hand, generously offering her time and talents in any way she could.

Maria found joy in the outdoors, gathering people around the table for a home-cooked meal, bocce nights at Sons of Italy, traveling, and surrounding herself with those she loved most. Her heart remained deeply connected to Italy, where she leaves behind cherished family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning of Tuesday, September 29, at 9:00 AM, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 1235 State Street, Schenectady, NY.

A Committal Service will follow at 10:30 AM, in Saints Cyril and Method Cemetery, 611 Duanesburg Road, Rotterdam, NY.
