Duanesburg - Margy L. Dickershaid, 73, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday April 4, 2017. Margy was born in Niskayuna, the daughter of the late Edward and Iona Fitzpatrick. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Margy was a Court Attendant with Schenectady County Court System and Sally’s Diner where she worked with her best friend Sally. She was a member of the Ladies of the Rotterdam Elks, the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes and the Mt. Pleasant Marching Band. With her husband Dick, Margy was very involved with the Challenger Baseball League, Immaculate Conception Church Basketball League and the Bellevue Little League. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. She tried to be a friend to everyone she met and welcomed all with her constant beautiful smile. Above all she loved her family. Margy was the beloved wife of 53 years to Richard F. “Dick” Dickershaid Sr.; beloved mother of Richard Dickershaid Jr., Michael J. Dickershaid; loving grandmother of Ryan, Erica, Ricky, Michael Jr., Brittany, Cody and Alex; sister of Judy (Clarke) Fitzpatrick- Pile and the late Edward “Mickey” Fitzpatrick Jr. Beloved daughter in law of the late Marguerite Hackert Dickershaid and the late Frank A. Dickershaid. Beloved sister in law of Diane (Donald) Payette. Margy is also survived by several great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family extends their special thanks to Dr. Schlossberg, Dr. Kroev, Dr. Dolinsky, C-wing at Ellis and Hospice. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin 8:45 am Saturday at the funeral home followed at 9:30 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Rd., Rotterdam. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in Margy’s name be made to the Challenger Tri County Baseball League or the St. Georges Lodge No. 6 Free and Accepted Masons Youth Program or Our Lady Queen of Peace Church.
