Marguerite A (Lane) Vanbumble

Charlottesville, Virginia- Marguerite A. (Lane) VanBumble, 95, formerly of Glenville, N.Y. at rest Monday, March 18, 2013. Marguerite was born in Lanesville, N.Y. on September 14, 1917. She was the beloved daughter of the late Alsup and Mary (Mulhearn) Lane. She was a graduate of Hunter High School and later graduated from Hunter College with a Teaching Degree. She began teaching in a one room school house in the Catskills and later taught in the Schalmont School District, retiring with over 30 years service.Marguerite was a member of the Schenectady County and New York State Retired Teachers Association. She was a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Schenectady. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Donald J. VanBumble, who passed away in 2002; beloved mother of Donald W. (Gail) VanBumble of Borboursville, VA and Chester J. VanBumble of Glenville; loving grandmother of Jolene VanBumble of Ruckersville, VA. Jay VanBumble (US Air Force) stationed in Seoul, South Korea, Melissa VanBumble of Selkirk, Kelly (Anthony) Prest of Schenectady, Justin VanBumble of Ruckersville, VA.,Jessica ((Christian) Knoell, of Richmond, VA. Marguerite is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. Services will be private.
