Guilderland – Margaret L. Larson, 70, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021. Born in Schenectady, Margy was the daughter of Ruth Devendorf Larson and the late Roger Larson. A graduate of Guilderland High School, she went on to attend SUNY Potsdam, SUNY Albany and Onondaga Community College, receiving her Dental Hygienist license. Margy worked as a special education teaching assistant at Fowler High School in Syracuse, retiring in 2014. She also tutored students in their homes and taught them life skills or provided respite for their families. Margy was an outstanding people person who was loved and cherished by many, not the least of which was her family. Margy loved to do her own thing. She was easy to talk to, had a great laugh and always kept a kind and positive attitude. She loved her mother and siblings, children and grandchildren and dear friends above all else. She was a wonderful daughter, proud mom, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, niece and cousin. We will miss her and her smile and laughter. Margy lived a full life and in her spare time she enjoyed going out to eat, her Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts, getting her hair and nails done, cooking, playing cards, crosswords, reading, tv and movies, shopping and spending time outside in the sunshine by the pool. She loved a variety of music and played the piano. Margy was drawn to Native American culture. She was also an animal lover, whether they were her own or her children’s and spoiled them endlessly. Margy leaves behind her children, Nicole Wright-Gilbo (Mark) and David Wright (Jennifer), beloved grandchildren, Savannah and Logan, her mother, Ruth Larson, siblings, Susan Larson, Richard Larson (Kathy) and Steven Larson as well as 4 nieces and many cousins. Margy is predeceased by her father, brother Matt, and son, Joseph Wright. Funeral services will be held privately.
