Magdalena K (Vogel) Smith

Magdalena K. Smith, 88, formerly of Ford Ave. in Rotterdam, died peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2014. Magdalena was born in Brussels, Belgium and came to the United States in 1948. She worked as the head of housekeeping at the Stardust Motel for many years. Magdalena was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peach Church (Our Lady of the Assumption Church) and enjoyed spending time at camp on Sacandaga, playing cards, and gardening. Most of all though, she loved her family. Magdalena was a loving mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, John O. Smith and sisters, Gerda Fabich and Eva Schneider. Magdalena is survived by her beloved son, William (Marilyn) Smith of Rotterdam, two granddaughters, Autumn Smith and Melanie (Mark) Neddo and her great- granddaughter, Micaela Neddo.
