Magdalen M. "Maggie" Barna, 84 of Rotterdam died peacefully at home on Sunday, April 7, 2013. Born in Estergom, Hungery, Magdalen was the daughter of the late Michael and Barbara Agfalvi. She graduated from High School and Business School in Hungary and moved to the United States in 1956. Magdalen worked for the United Baking Co. and later worked at General Electric as a Winder in the Large Motor Division for 15 years before she retired. She was a member of the Hungarian Benevolent Society. In addition to her parents, Magdalen was also predeceased by her son in law Jack O'Rourke. She is survived by two daughters; MagdalenO"Rourke of Rotterdam and Martha (Claude) Rizzicone of Schenectady, her brother; Julius Agfalvi of Schenectady, four grandchildren; Robert Martin of Schenectady, KimberlyNeary of Rotterdam, Tina (Ronald) Patterson of Rexford,Jennifer Taber of Rotterdam and 11 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 8:15-9:15 am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, followed at 10 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel's Church. Burial will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St. Schenectady, NY 12308.
